Five Elements
Wu Xing
The dynamic forces forming the balance of the universe, nature, and human life.
Yu Qu Divides the Cosmic Balance
In the dawn of time, the world was a formless chaos—no sky, no earth, no life, just a vague "balance point" called "Yu Qu," a mysterious space connecting heaven and earth. The Heavenly Emperor summoned five deities to divide this void and establish order.
Azure Dragon · Wood (East)
With a wave of its claws, seedlings sprouted and spring arrived. Wood symbolizes growth, vitality, and new beginnings—the force that awakens nature.
Vermilion Bird · Fire (South)
Its wings stirred flames that warmed the land and ripened crops. Fire stands for energy, transformation, and passion, driving the cycle forward.
Yellow Dragon · Earth (Center)
Guardian of the center, it breathed life into the soil to nourish plants and stabilize mountains. Earth is the symbol of stability and nourishment.
Black Tortoise · Water (North)
It called forth rain to quench the earth's thirst. Water symbolizes wisdom and adaptability—nourishing all without contention.
The Generative Cycle
Wood feeds Fire → Fire turns to Earth → Earth bears Metal → Metal collects Water → Water nurtures Wood.
"This reflects the ancient Chinese understanding of nature—as a dynamic system where no force is dominant, and balance is the key to survival."
